How much chromium does one serving of GlucoZen contain?
0.7 mcg per 1 mL, which is 2% of the Daily Value, or 1.4 mcg a day at two servings. Adults need about 25-35 mcg a day, and chromium trials used 200-1,000 mcg a day (NIH ODS: Chromium fact sheet).
How much gymnema is in GlucoZen?
The label does not say. Gymnema is 8th of 22 in the blend, so it can weigh at most 25 mg per serving, or 50 mg a day. Human trials used about 300-500 mg a day (LiverTox: Gymnema).
Does GlucoZen contain berberine or cinnamon?
Not according to the bottle. The brand info page lists berberine, cinnamon, Okinawa honey, resveratrol, turmeric and two probiotics, but the Supplement Facts panel lists none of them. We follow the label; read the full comparison in label vs marketing.
Is there caffeine in GlucoZen?
Yes, from guarana and green tea, but the label does not state the amount. The blend weight suggests it is small. The FDA cites 400 mg a day as an amount not generally linked to harm in healthy adults (FDA: How much caffeine is too much).
What sweetens GlucoZen drops?
Stevia and xylitol, listed with deionized water, organic citrus extract and natural flavors as the other ingredients. The label does not use the term sugar-free.

How many drops of GlucoZen should I take?
The label says: “Adults, take 1 mL (approximately 2 droppers full) twice daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.” That is 2 mL a day. Measure with the dropper rather than counting single drops.
What time of day should I take GlucoZen?
The label sets no times. Many people pair the first serving with breakfast and the second with a late-afternoon meal. Keeping the second serving away from bedtime makes sense because guarana adds some caffeine.
Can I put GlucoZen drops in water?
The label does not say how to take the drops. The brand info page suggests about five drops in warm water once daily, which conflicts with the bottle. Follow the label dose of 1 mL twice daily; mixing it into a little water is not addressed.
What if I miss a dose of GlucoZen?
Take the next serving at its usual time. The label says not to exceed the recommended dose, so do not double up to make up for a missed one.
How long does one bottle of GlucoZen last?

Can I take GlucoZen with metformin or insulin?
Ask your doctor first. Gymnema and Asian ginseng in the blend may lower blood sugar (LiverTox: Gymnema) (NCCIH: Asian ginseng), which matters if you already take diabetes medicine. Never stop, skip or change a prescribed medicine because of a supplement.
Is GlucoZen safe with high blood pressure?
Check with your doctor. The blend contains a licorice compound, and NCCIH reports that even small amounts of licorice have caused severe effects in people with high blood pressure, heart disease or kidney disease (NCCIH: Licorice root).
Why does the L-tryptophan in GlucoZen matter?
L-tryptophan supplements were linked to an outbreak of eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome in 1989-1990, with 1,536 reported cases and 27 deaths, followed by a recall (CDC MMWR: L-tryptophan and EMS). GlucoZen's amount is tiny, but ask your doctor if you take antidepressants.
What are the warning signs of low blood sugar?
Shakiness, sweating, hunger, dizziness or confusion. For many people with diabetes, low means under 70 mg/dL. NIDDK advises 15-20 grams of fast-acting carbs, a recheck in 15 minutes, and 911 for a severe low (NIDDK: Low blood glucose).
Is GlucoZen safe around dogs?
Keep it away from them. GlucoZen contains xylitol, which can cause a sharp drop in a dog's blood sugar within 10-60 minutes (FDA: Xylitol is dangerous for dogs). Store the bottle where pets cannot reach it and call a vet if one gets into it.
